We met with a nice contractor yesterday about the kitchen. He is going to draw up a plan and send us an estimate. He even offered to write a letter about how the work done by THH was substandard to send to the studio, which I think is a great idea. What we’d like them to do is adjust the taxes to reflect the actual value of the “prize” and hopefully pay to have the kitchen fixed.
Anyway, my days are spent puppy training and working on my proposal. I think I might take a break today and go to Target and see if there are any dog carrier bags that will fit a long, skinny dog. Pippi, the big chub, had her check up and she weighs a whopping 7.8 lbs which seems small enough that I could get little tote to carry her in. Normally I am all for dogs walking all the time, but as evidenced in our day at the park this past weekend, Elvis and Violet have much more stamina then she does when it comes to walking. We’re going to NYC this weekend and I want to be prepared. Matt’s parents don’t have a fenced in yard so we always end up doing a tremendous amount of dog walking. Not to mention the fact that there are rumours of getting deli in the city or going to the cupcake meet up in Queens and it would be great if we could take her with us. Elvis and Violet are used to being left loose at the in-laws house while we are out but I think it might be too much change for Pippi and we’d have to crate her, which I prefer not to do during the day. Plus she has to go outside pretty often. It’s New York, people tote their dogs everywhere.
I am having a craving for an egg mcmuffin, which I haven’t had in years. Maybe it is really just a Canadian bacon craving. Either way, I’m starving!
*Answer: tons.

I really hope that they do take care of it for you! I want a new kitchen so much right now too, some of our cabinets are actually falling apart (I am sure they were original to the house), and although we have done things to make our kitchen look better getting all new stuff would just be amazing. I hope you get your kitchen!!

Email me about working with the Top Chef people one day 8-), it will probably make you feel better. But good thing you got that contractor to write a letter. It’s so much better if you can do that to send to the production company/TLC people.

I can’t believe how many issues you are having with these people… it almost sounds like you need a lawyer to fix some of this as well as the contractor… hugs… I hope it all works out!

I still can’t believe that they did such crappy work on your kitchen makeover and left it as is. I hope they offer to cover the rehab work. I think if you keep on them for long enough, they will cave. It’s not like they don’t have the money. Oh, and Peameal Bacon Sandwiches are the BEST! I have a craving for them every once in awhile.
